What is Cross-Genre play?
Radiant Tactics lets you crossplay characters across tactics genres best hits. Within Radiant’s setting, the sci-fantasy World of Phoibos, your D&D-esc character can be a MtG creature, can be 40k HQ choice, and more.
Only Radiant Tactics offers players the flexibility to continue progressing no matter which tactic’s style they play, whoever they play with. Only Radiant gives hobbyist creators the tools needed to author genre-crossing narrative campaigns.
What’s Valuable about Crossplayable RPGs?
A crossplayable RPG system offers hobbyists a different ownership paradigm for the characters they creatively invest in, supporting a right to continue authoring & playing with creations across all styles of games in the system. Compared to the current RPG landscape, in a crossplayable RPG system…
- Players have greater freedom to play the characters they’ve authored in all the types of games that they enjoy.
- Players have greater flexibility to play formats more workable for their schedules while still progressing.
- Hobbyist creators can build adventures and campaigns with pieces from different tactics genres.
- Individual purchases of unit models, maps, tokens, etc have utility in all or many games in the system — as if a D&D model could be played in Warhammer 40k matches could be played in Magic the Gathering, etc.
- Any new release is an expansion to all — Radiant Tactic’s campaigns can be composed from adventures & scenarios that play like different types of tactics games.
The Proof is in the Playtest
Radiant Tactics is a crossplayable tactics RPG, but you don’t need to take our word for it. Try our free crossplay demos for proof-of-concept, and to experience first hand what crossplay is like.
How to use Demos
- Pick or create a character.
- Play character in a game style you enjoy.
- Play same character in a second game style you enjoy.
We don’t claim to have perfected crossplay or flawlessly implemented every game style we intend to support. A more perfect crossplayable RPG is the long term goal we’re working towards. You can help us build a better system by letting us know what is working and what needs refinement. Or, you might share Radiant Tactics with others interested in playing and creating in a crossplayable RPG system, so to build a community. You could even support us materially on Patreon. Every bit helps!

Send playtest feedback via the message field at the bottom of each demo, or as an email to DreamingFoxLLC@gmail.com.
